Very Close to Big Chopping! and other Updates

I think that I am close to going ahead and cutting my hair sooner than my two year mark. The back half of my hair is basically natural. I have been having fun playing around with it. The only thing that is holding me back from taking the plunge is how very short the front section is. I don't feel like I'm ready to embrace the shortness and the shrinkage. I'm going to do my best to stop holding myself back and just do it.

I have been thinking about how I would stretch my hair once I was completely natural. I could continue with twists but I decided to try my hand at something else; the SSS Plates. I have seen these things plastered all over Instagram. I'm trying them out in hopes that I can get the most stretch for my hair. You will definitely be seeing a review for this set.

A quick update:
I touched up my color this past Friday. No bleach but it is more noticeable. I like it more than the last application. Once I am completely natural I will be using the bleach and going brighter. I just got really excited. Lol

Although I am totally in love with the progress and health of my hair but I am not feeling how what's left of my relaxed ends makes my hair look when my hair is straight.

  1. Girl, I know how you feel. You have 'the BC itch'! Trust me, you will just know when it is time, but I have the feeling that it won't be much longer! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on those plates. I was interested until I realized how many I would need for all my hair!

    1. I really want to cut it within the next two weeks but I keep thinking about the reunion I have in July and how might just continue to wait for August. I just might by a pair of shears though. I can imagine how many plates you would need. Lol I can't wait to try them. I hope they are the answer to my hair prayers. They will make life so much easier

  2. EVERYWHERE you turn on Insta---those plates are there! I think that they are super innovative but I've found that stretching my hair using croc clips works wonderfully! Then if I want a "stretched" curl----twist outs do the trick. I just wonder---will I really want to use those plates over my sorta go to ways of stretching my hair that are crazy easy to do?

Like Age said---you'll definitely know when the time is right to big chop! I'm sooo proud at how well you've handled your transition!

    1. Awww thank you KLP! I'm so happy with the way things have been going and thankful for it being as uneventful as possible. I have tried doing the twists with clips at the end but it doesn't give me the stretch I want mainly at the roots. Hopefully the plates will help me out with that.
