{1} I started by doing a faux hot oil treatment. I had just a tiny bit of Simplicity Oil left. So I applied that all over my hair. Put on a shower cap and let it sit for a few minutes.
{2} Cleansed my hair with Naturelle Grow Lemon and Mint Clarifying Cleansing Conditioner.
{3} I applied Hairitage Hydration Pink Grapefruit Punch Conditioner under a plastic cap while I finished up my shower.
{4} After rinsing the conditioner out I t-shirt dried my hair for about 20 minutes. Applied Naturelle Grow Intense Deep Conditioner and sat under my steamer. I finally used a protein conditioner.
{5} Applied Hairitage Hydration Soft Coconut Marshmallow and Alikay Naturals Lemongrass Leave-in Conditioner and proceeded to detangle my hair and put it in twists to stretch my new growth.
{6} I sealed my hair with my Organix Coconut Oil Serum. I still love this serum. It's so lightweight and smells good.
All in all it was a decent wash day. Dealing with some tangles and straight ends that like to stick together is no fun but I managed. I am a bit paranoid about my ends and think I might have to do a another trim when I get my hair done in a couple of weeks. But I will do my best not to worry until then.
How was your wash day?
WOW! You are almost 1 year post?!? You go Candace!! My last wash day was great. I have been incorporating my version of an oil rinse into my wash day and it has made a world of difference. I also detangle soaking wet hair instead of slightly damp and my hair is so much easier to manage and it has minimized my breakage. Coming up on 22 months post!
ReplyDeleteYes girl! A year post. lol Another year or so left to go. Have you decided when you want to big chop?
DeleteGirl, because my shrinkage is on SWOLE, I actually would like to transition for a total of 3 years. When my hair is stretched, my natural hair is APL but it shrinks to about EL! I need a bit more hang time before I chop!
DeleteMy shrinkage is a beast as well. My hair shrinks up to just at my shoulders. That just blows my mind. My new growth hair lands at about neck length when stretched. I get the itch every now and then to just cut but if I can make it I want to keep going for another year and a half.
